Reflections on Crime and Punishment

Imagen
One of the most impactful books I have read is Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky. The story follows Raskolnikov, a young man who commits a terrible crime but is later consumed by guilt and inner conflict. What makes this novel fascinating is not only the crime itself, but the deep psychological exploration of the character. It shows us that punishment is not only external, like prison, but also internal—our own conscience can be the hardest judge. For me, the book is a reminder that every decision we make has consequences, and that redemption is possible only through truth and moral responsibility. Dostoevsky makes us question human nature, justice, and forgiveness. It is a book that leaves you thinking long after you finish reading it.

Media Literacy in the Digital Age

Media literacy is the ability to read, understand, and evaluate media messages. In today’s world, almost everyone uses a smartphone, watches videos, or scrolls on social networks. But do we really understand the messages we consume? Media is not neutral; it is designed with intentions—to inform, to entertain, or sometimes to influence. Being media literate means recognizing hidden messages, questioning stereotypes, and identifying fake news. Personally, I believe that media literacy is essential for young people, because it gives us the tools to use technology responsibly and to become conscious citizens. Without it, we risk living in a world of illusions instead of reality.

The Power of Critical Thinking

Critical thinking is one of the most valuable skills we can develop in modern life. Every day, we are surrounded by information—news, opinions, social media posts—and it is easy to believe everything without questioning. But critical thinking teaches us to stop, analyze, and ask: Is this true? What evidence supports this idea? For me, critical thinking is like a filter that protects our minds. It prevents manipulation, helps us solve problems, and allows us to see the world from different perspectives. When we think critically, we are not passive receivers of information—we become active seekers of truth.
